The City has Adopted a 2025 Property Tax of $0.265406 per $100

The City of Dodd City has Adopted a 2025 Property Tax of $0.265406 per $100, to support the Budget for Fiscal Year Beginning October 1, 2025, and Ending September 30, 2026. This is effectively an 11.32% percent increase in Total Taxes. The Tax Rate Levy for Maintenance and Operations of the City of Dodd City is $0.059925 cents per $100 of taxable valuation and will raise Less Taxes for Maintenance and Operations than last year’s tax rate and that the tax rate will effectively be Lowered by 25.15% percent and will Lower Taxes for Maintenance and Operations on a $100,000 home by approximately ($20.14). The Tax Rate Levy for to pay the Principal and Interest on the Funded Debt of the City of Dodd City is $0.205481 cents per $100 of taxable valuation.

Caney, Dodd City, TX to consider adopting a proposed tax rate for tax year 2025. The proposed tax rate is 0.265406. The proposed tax rate would increase total taxes in City of Dodd City by 11.32%. The 86th Texas Legislature modified the manner in which the voter-approval tax rate is calculated to limit the rate of growth of property taxes in the state.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED 2025-2026 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET

The City of Dodd City (City) City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2025-2026 fiscal year budget on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., at City Hall/Community Center, 304 South Caney Street, Dodd City, Texas. The public is encouraged to review the City’s proposed budget on the City of Dodd City website at www.cityofdoddcity.org or view a paper copy of the budget in the City Secretary’s Office. This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $10,699, or 13.62%, and of that amount, $3,399.50 is tax revenue from new property added to the tax roll this year. The public may comment by providing written comments either through the mail or email to the addresses below. Any written comments will be included with information provided to the City Council for their consideration. Members of the public are encouraged to provide input through any means available and/or to participate in the public hearing. Citizens may email doddcity@yahoo.com or mail to the City Secretary’s Office at PO BOX 129, Dodd City, Texas 75438-0129.
